Chicken Pie

This Chicken pie is Nancys Grandmother's recipe and afavorite here on the farm. It combines amouthwatering gravy with chunks of fresh chickenand your favourite vegetables for that classiccomfort food that is sure to warm your soul.

Ingredients

3 tbsp Butter or chicken fat
4 tbsp Flour, all-purpose
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp poultry seasoning
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup milk
1/8 tsp black pepper

1 tsp grated onion
1 unbaked pie crust with top
2 cups diced cooked chicken
1 cup cooked vegetables
(peas, carrots, potatoes, celery)

Directions

Melt butter and add butter. Brown.
Add salt, poultry seasoning, chicken broth, milk, black pepper and grated onion to butterflour mixture and heat together.
Add chicken and vegetables, cool.
When slightly cooled, put into unbaked pie crust and cover with top crust.
Preheat over to 400 degrees farenheit. Bake 25-30 minutes or until crust is slightly golden.
Serve 10 minutes after removing from oven.

*This recipe is great for using up leftover gravy, cut up roast chicken, and any left overvegetables.
